Born and raised in Bologna, Riccio is a dj, producer, record collector and one of the true lovers of everything pertaining cosmic, disco, funk and soul.
He was co-owner of Main Street Records between 2003 and 2009 - one of the top record stores in his hometown - and co-founder, along with Luca Trevisi, of that gem called Super Value Special Edits, a bootleg label that became an instant cult of the scene from 2008 to 2011 being a lodestar for the raising re-editing wave of that time.
Super Value, he says, still a state of mind - let's say better a state of soul - which will be always deep-seated in him, no matter about the fate the label had then.
In 2010 he joined the Bosconi’s stable giving away a couple of stunning EPs for the Extra Virgin side of the label and everything he has put out has got a wide appreciation, passing also through the stuff made for Hidden History and Gentleman Recordings projects until the latest releases on Fly By Night Music and Slow Town.
Reflecting the nature of an authentic record collector with a visceral love for vinyl, he spreads a highly refined style in selection and mixing that is well expressed by his reworks and the original productions too.
Even though we've all got a bit older, Riccio still remaining for us the Italian golden boy of Disco & Boogie.
