Sometimes things not go as planned, and sometimes, that is for the best, or at least just as well.

We can not begin to describe our excitement for this coming night. It is a bit last minute, due to circumstances out of our hands, but it is with great honor we present not one but two legends, Cyrus and Walsh, who will be joining us at Röda Sten in two weeks from today. If that wasn't enough, we are also happy to announce they will be supported by two of our favorite young producers out of Sweden, Sordez and Tebekka.

If you are familiar with the roots of our scene, Cyrus name should be one well known to you, as one of the most influential producers to date. Dig a little deeper and you will know the name Walsh as label manager and co-producer to some legendary riddims from the earlier days. Expect beats from the early 2000's and forward to present day. Need we say that between the two, the amount of dub plates they got is just ridiculous. There's much more to read about these two below.

Running the night for over four years in Gothenburg, we have gotten to know a lot of great people. Lucky for us, some of them are also great producers. It is not with out a slight bit of pride that we present both Sordez (Malmø) and Tebekka (Göteborg) and let them showcase their talent on Swedens best tweaked soundsystem.

Since Tebekka, who usually does our postering (big up brother!), is playing, we have giving him this month off. Also because there's no time to print posters. Anyway, since they won't be up, we would be very grateful if you would all share the event and spread the word. Let your friends know they will be missing one hell of a night if they don't come out for this one.

Much respect and love from the We Are All Bastards crew. See you in front of the system and behind the bar in two weeks!

Cyrus Decade Mix 1 & 2

- Biography -

A veteran of the dubstep scene since it’s inception in early 2003, you couldn’t get better credentials for being a dubstep legend than Cyrus. Born and raised in the home of dubstep, Croydon (UK), home to fellow pioneers Skream, Benny ill and Benga. Indeed his story is almost identikit to his peers; djing drum and bass and then garage, honing his skills on pirate radio and local club residencies, the then 18-year-old got hooked on making music and had early success drawing major label interest.

From there, Cyrus decided to shun the expensive professional route realizing he could get his own unique sound with a DIY set up. In 2003/ 04 with limited places to release his dark, brooding, boundary pushing take on UK Garage, Cyrus started his Random Trio Production imprint and launched the Lost City Ep, a track Hyperdub head honcho, Kode 9, battered at dubstep institution Forward. Having found a sound he could call his own, Cyrus’s perseverance paid off landing a regular slot on legendary pirate Rinse FM in 2004, and alongside Hatcha and Kode 9, was one of the only DJ pushing the dubstep sound. Perfectly placed, there was no shortage of interest in his sound. Cyrus’s brutally minimalistic, hypnotic and cavernous sound is beautifully captured on his critically acclaimed album From The Shadows on Pinch’s Tectonic label. Further releases with Chestplate and Deep medi have helped to cement his reputation as a key producer. And, It was no surprise when one of his more cinematic tracks featured in a major film. Indian Stomp appeared alongside Digital Mystikz and Kode 9, and also rather impressively, John Lennon, on the soundtrack for Children of Men. “The track was originally to be used in a hit US TV show, so to be told it was gonna be used in a blockbuster film was surreal.” A main fixture at all the top dubstep nights – DMZ, Sub Dub, FWD – Cyrus has also DJ’d the world, from America to New zealand and all inbetween, the desire for his sub atomic bass weight is constantly in demand. In August 2008, he was asked to be part of Mary Anne Hobbs prestigious Generation Bass show on international BBC Radio One, a vital and important platform for dubstep.

With regular Shows on London’s Kiss fm and more recently being added to the bbc radio 1 xtra “daily dose of dubstep” roster with the full Chestplate family, Cyrus continues to support and release the best in underground ‘dubstep’ music.

He is nothing short of a legend.

DJ Walsh is a Dubstep Dj, producer and record label manager. Together with N-Type, Walsh hosted a twice-weekly show on Londons Delight FM, which at the time catered for the darker side of UK Garage. Sordez - Sun Tribe EP (Dubtastic Records)

- Biography -

Featured on TRPR's Sounds of the Swedish Underground (https://soundcloud.com/fatkidonfire/various-artists-sounds-of-the) Sordez and Tebekka is part of the group of new Swedish producers ready to carry the torch from original Don's such as L-Wiz.

Inspired by dubstep's international reach, these new artists bring a sound that spans beyond the deeply rooted riddims of South London and bare flavors of not only dub and garage but techno and hiphop as well. Still sticking true to the traditional ways of dubstep with deep sub bass and the 140 BPM tempo, you can tell dubstep is alive and well all across Sweden.
