DUTTY MOONSHINE (Bristol/Oxford, UK) – GHETTO FUNK/SWING/PARTY
It is quite an honour to get the chance to host one of my original favourites in the swing genre. They have made a shift from playing electro swing to producing heavy mash-ups and funky originals that borrow and cut from music made over the last century. One minute you’ll be dancing to Ray Charles, and a second later you realize D-12’s Purple Pills is being matched perfectly to Parov Stelar’s Catgroove! There are no boundaries; they skip across genres with the greatest of ease and it makes the crowd go crazy. This will be the first time they will be crossing the ocean to drop some of the heaviest and funkiest modern vintage bass music the world has to offer. They have actually been kicked off of electro swing line-ups because they are simply too freakin’ heavy! Get ready to boogie like never before, they are constantly bursting with energy and they put on a fucking show.
***SUPPORTING LINE UP (alphabetical)***
AMANDA RAYGUN (Toronto) – BADASS GLITCH HOP
One of the coolest girls I know, Amanda can throw down a dirty funky set like she was born to do so. Seeing her open up the Spore stage at OM last summer was one of the highlights of my summer. She is almost a regular DJ at my events at this point, get ready to glitch out and get funked up as Amanda does what she does best...make ya wobble!
DAVEY BOOM (CirQlar, Toronto) – GHETTO FUNK
Stoked to finally get to bring this man back onto one of my lineups! Full of energy and a repertoire of music that gets ya boppin and bouncing like a bobblehead on a North York road, you may know Davey from CirQlar events, OM, or just from being everywhere all the time... he will be bringin' back the funk.
FARBSIE FUNK (Toronto) – FUNKIN’ BIRTHDAY SET!
The founder of MakeItFunky, Farbsie is usually the guy running around the funk shows busily making sure everything is running smoothly and going to plan... but this is his birthday weekend and so he is coming out to party! Let's show this man an awesome night as he throws down his infamous fresh sets of funk breaks and groovy bass music that has landed him slots at Shambhala and Evolve among a whole wack of other festivals! Enjoy!
HUGSNOTDRUGS (Toronto) – LIVE BIRTHDAY SET!
Our second birthday celebration of the night is the wonderful Christian Poulsen of HugsNotDrugs! Performing a special LIVE set for his celebratory weekend, the vibes are going to be out of this world!
JD MACK (Toronto) – FUNKY BREAKS
I have been trying to land JD MACK on one of my lineups ever since I saw him DJ the Atomic Lollipop Guinness Book of World Records attempt at the biggest Nerf gun battle ever to take place. A delicious round up of funky classics and fresh takes on old tunes, he also isn;t afraid to delve into some of the other genres he loves, prepare for a funky roller coaster ride of bass.
KHALIL (Belgium) – WONKY BLUES/SWING
If you have attended any of my events in the last couple of years, chances are you have had the chance to catch KHALIL play one of his late night sets. Wonkadelic wibbly wobbly electro blues and heavy electro swing fused with gypsy beats and that modern vintage womp that gets you hooked in seconds. As personable and friendly as he is talented, his sets always prove to be a highlight of every night he plays.
POLARIS (Toronto) – DRUM N BASS
One of the more recognizable names in the Toronto DNB scene, Polaris has been working his ass off playing shows, making mixes, throwing parties, and being heavily involved in the electronic scene in Toronto. Prepare for a late night set of fast and heavy bass music that will have you rinsing out until the party is over.
ROLLS ROYCE (Buffalo/Toronto) – ELECTRO SWING
I am pretty sure this man has played every single electronic event I have ever thrown, he even spun at a rock and metal show I threw! If you haven't aught Royce at one of my events or one of the many others around town he has been featured in, be sure to come check out a classy set of electro swing that touches down in the swing house and tech-swing genres. So much love and respect for how much this man supports these events and everything I do. The perfect DJ to get you into the swing of things for the crazy night ahead.
SKANK HONTO (Toronto) – PARTY BASS/DNB
At February's GANGSTERS OF LOVE, this man turned the dance floor into a full on energetic dancing warzone. Skank Honto swims across so many genres so easily is hard to even classify his sets as a single one. Anything from funk to breaks to glitch hop to dubstep to drum n bass and beyond, this man knows how to bring a party to the next level.
SPLATTER MONKEY (Toronto) – OLDIES
Nothing soothes my soul more than the original tunes from the first half of the 20th century. Sometimes people forget that going out dancing is not something that started with the clubs. Speakeasies and shindigs all over North America and the world used to host underground parties of high energy classics. His set will take you on a voyage from the 1920s to the 1970s and everywhere in between. Respect the classics and know your roots.
STRYKER (Toronto) – DIRTY ELECTRO
Get ready for some dirty electro to get your heart racing. There are not too many events I end up at that still play awesome electro sets, so I decided to make sure this event has one worth remembering. Whether you have never danced to electro or you have done it too much, make sure you spend some time checking out the set!
