Minor Threat 5 is a 14 and under kids jump line contest that is FREE to all.
Stevens Pass is known for having the best jumps in WA. So instead of us doing a run of the mill jib, rail, jam contest like the rest of em out there, we are here to show case the kids park line skills.
So here's how this is gonna go down. We have the kids broken down in age groups and sign-up is 9am - 10am
8 and Under
9-10 year olds
11-12 year olds
13-14 year olds.
Each kid gets TWO qualifying runs thru the park.
This is a park run contest, so your best jumping and rail skills need to come to play in each and every run. The judges will be judging you on style, tricks, difficulty and overall stoke factor. If their stoked on you, you'll move on. Don't do the same crap as everyone else does, stand out, do something different, be memorable, and most importantly BE WICKED.
Only 8 of the kids in EACH class will move on to the head to head finals. So the 8 top shredding kids in each category will move forward into the head to head heats.
In the quarter finals, The top seated kid will go against the 8th seated kid. THe 2nd against the 7th and so on.
Kids will ROCK PAPER SCISSORS to see who goes first in the head to head portion and will take their run.
The three judges will then determine which of the two kids move on to the next round.
We will have quarter finals, semi finals then the head to head finals to determine first and second place, and then a head to head final to determine 3rd and 4th place.
This contest is not like the BOYS CLUB or like Grade School, where everyone walks away a winner or with a trophy. This is real life. ONLY the TOP 3 in each category win.
There is also an award for the BEST METHOD. So have your methods on point. No Euro Style methods will be accepted either. None of this grabbing tip method crap. We are PROUD NORTH WESTERNERS and have a tradition of grabbing between the binding or near the front binding with our methods.
We will do the awards right after the contest right here, as well as serving up some tasty hot dogs. Also a product toss for those that stick around.
