The Visconti-Venetian Rocca of Lonato del Garda (Brescia), National Monument since 1912, which offers an unparalleled view of the entire basin of the lower lake Garda, will host on Saturday 12 and Sunday, April 13, 2014, the seventh edition of "Flowers in the Rock", exhibition of rare plants and flowers.

La Rocca is the symbol of Lonato: visible everywhere, it is one of the most extensive fortifications in northern Italy, praised for its grandeur and strategic position by Napoleon Bonaparte.
The walk on the walkways can admire the lake on one side, from the peninsula of Sirmione, the Rock of Manerba and in front of the Monte Baldo and the typical towns of Lazise, ​​Bardolino, Garda and Malcesine; turning instead admires the landscape of the plains until the early Apennines, which can be seen on a clear day.

During the "Flowers in the Rock", a multicolored and fragrant path leads visitors to explore the entire park that slopes down towards the fortress of the ancient village of the country rich in history and tradition. The house-museum with the Library, the old Civic Tower, the Baroque cathedral and the many small churches of the old town are an unmissable destination for discerning holidaymakers in search of art and culture.

The visit to the extraordinary mansion inhabited by Senator Ugo Da Como: the route runs in 20 fully furnished rooms, which displays collections of paintings, ceramics, porcelain and especially the magnificent library which houses about 50,000 volumes including important manuscripts, autographs and illustrated books.

For the seventh edition of the exhibition market, the Garden Club Brescia and Fondazione Ugo Da Como have selected the most important Italian nurserymen, passionate growers and researchers of rare species, including the most well known manufacturers of herbaceous perennials, roses, peonies, herbs , medicinal and horticultural details, citrus, olive and palm trees, scented pelargonium leaf, imperial and miniature irises, lavender, clematis, aquatic plants, succulents, tillandsia, antique fruit and forest plants.

In addition to flowers and plants, visitors will find the gazebo of artisans who make items and decorations for the garden, a picturesque corner coffee shop and buffet restaurant for a break of taste and relaxation.

The Hortus Conclusus is the children's area with games, readings, workshops and animations.
Among the many events that will enliven the event, the exhibition The country where the lemon trees bloom-Goethe's Italian Journey and Lake Garda, dedicated to his stop at Benaco, during which he admired and described the cultivation of lemons and citrus .

The exhibition will exhibit an impressive selection of clothing from the collection of historical Mara Bertoli, referring at the time in which Goethe made his first trip to Italy (1786-1788), travel items, maps, books, curios that will recreate the atmosphere of the Grand Tour

The exhibition aims to evoke, through notes of custom, original vintage clothing, memorabilia travel eighteenth-century engravings and printed works, the atmosphere of Goethe's journey to Italy. With the intervention of artistic and poetic Giusy Ferrari Sky, a famous teacher of the Italian and International Judge Floral Amateurs IIDFA Sanremo, it will evoke the 'botanical wonder' that so enchanted Goethe on his arrival on the Garda compositions of flowers and fruit, citrus fruits, lemons and box will marry harmoniously to roses and flowers chosen, the ranges pastel colors.
