The 6th edition of "Porchettiamo", which will take place on 9, 10 and May 11, 2014 in the charming village of San Terenziano Umbria (Perugia), offers this year the best productions of Italian roast pork and several side events for a great festival dedicated to an important "street food."

More than a festival a true declaration of love for one of the most tasty foods, ancient and popular of Italian culinary tradition. The admirers of pork will then meet again in San Terenziano Gualdo Cattaneo, in the province of Perugia, for the 6th edition of "Porchettiamo - Festival of Porchette of Italy."
From 9 to 'May 11, 2014 in the main square of the small Umbrian village, renamed for the occasion "The square of suckling pig", will gather stand carefully selected by the organization, with confirmation of producers who also came from outside the boundaries of conventional production Italian regions and less usual for this food. Well then this year in San Terenziano will be present again, for a comparison of some of the best Italian tradition, the porchetta in Umbria, Tuscany, Lazio, Marche, Abruzzo, Emilia Romagna and Calabria as well.
Many other new features coming, which will be announced at the close of the event. But the main concerns the initiative "in the tip of Porchetta", with some chefs who will interpret the porchetta sandwiches with gourmet-inspired pork and preparation "in porchetta" (typical Umbrian) such as rabbit or roast duck. So the pork at the base of many regional variations and taste, with many new ingredients that go into the production. Tradition and innovation, history and contemporary fantasy come together in this delicious street food.
Porchettiamo is thus a gastronomic journey that makes people to know and taste the best productions of Italian porchetta, but not only. The pork will also be in good company for a partnership in the name of unique flavors. After the success of the last two editions, it returns the encounter with other street foods thanks to the "Porchettiamo & Friends" that expands its presence. A visit to the porchetta, with the possibility of tasting, will be the Lampredotto Florentine, the Cicotto Grutti (Perugia), the PesceStrada the Trasimeno lake (Carp regina in porchetta of PesceStrada), the classic Sicilian street food (bread and cake, arancini, cannoli), piadina and finally the olives and cremini Marche.
With effect from "contour" there will be the red wines of the Strada del Sagrantino, at the Enoteca del Sagrantino, craft beers and Italian choices to Ferment Beer, at the Artisan Birroteca.
And for those who suffer from celiac disease, there will also be the porchetta sandwich with gluten (gluten free sandwich version), in collaboration with the Italian Celiac Association Umbria, because the pork is really a food for everyone.
There will also Slow Food, through the Valle Umbra Conduct organize workshops for the preparation of Cicotto Grutti (new Slow Food Umbria which consists of a traditional preparation of pork-based, unique flavor and highly aromatic, which is handed down from father son for years) and home-made sausages (via the recovery of some valuable practical skills have been lost in recent decades, but that fathers, mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers, they used to have produced truly genuine and 0 km).
