Guided tour through the streets of Acquapendente

Saturday, April 19. Starting from the medieval walls that opens Porta Romana, also known as Torre Julia de Jacopo we go towards the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre Basilica of the twelfth century, which today shows the many changes that have altered the original structure can still be seen in the beautiful crypt Romanesque. Immersed in his twilight you can also admire the chapel of the Holy Sepulchre, built on the model of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, sought-after destination for pilgrims who aspired to reach the holy land along the route of the Via Francigena.

The guided tour continues back to the sunlight to reach the Bishop's Palace. The building is at the heart of the City Museum, housed in the rooms of the main floor where once lived the bishop. The civic collection consists of a valuable collection of religious art diocesan and numerous finds from local excavations of "throw" (wells used in antiquity as garbage dumps), that illustrate the ceramic production aquesiana from the Middle Ages to the twentieth century.

Meet 10:30 am at the Tower Julia de Jacopo (Visitor Center Acquapendente), end of the tour scheduled for 12:30 hours. After the guided tour, from 15:30 you can also visit the City Museum (located inside the Bishop's Palace) with a ticket of € 2/partecipante facilitated.

The program will be repeated Sunday, April 20 from 15:30 to 17:30. At 17:30 will be also inaugurated the Museum's bookshop in the city. Cost: 7 € / participant. And 'possible to apply a family discount for children up to 14 years or a discount group (minimum 10 people) to communicate at the time of booking by phone. From 10:00 to 13:00 you can visit the Museum of the city, with an ordinary ticket for just € 3/visitatore.
