Markus Mrugalla | Abstract

BYCR Foro Buonaparte, 60, Milano, Italia
Google+

PRIVAT VIEW 16 APRIL, 6PM – 8PM.

17 APRIL – 5 MARCH 2014

BYCR is pleased to announce Abstract, the first solo show in Italy of Markus Mrugalla (1985 Lubliniec, Poland) who lives and works in Berlin.

After having studied fine arts and graphic design at the University of Berlin, Mrugalla, in his research, has gone beyond the formal codes of the 3D aesthetic and contemporary art.
"I’m interested in demonstrating how abstraction is still possible in a world of direct communication. My works (graphic) don’t require social rules. It’s free from functional conventions, as the linguistic indications of “this” or “that”. My priority is to create a new communication built on abstract bases”.
His works distance themselves from the stereotypes of contemporary advertising: his images don’t require photoshop, and don’t make use of the standard tropes of modern commercial language, instead they assert themselves through a unique power which combines spontaneity and linguistic complexity.
"I believe that people are ready for new visual experiences. In my pictures I work with programs, like all other designers: nevertheless I don’t realise fixed images, rather I work with iteration of colours and forms. My works don’t express only the research of the essence of a colour or an aesthetic intuition; rather they create an emotional sensual pleasure, stimulate intuition and they reveal themselves more sincere than any other advertising images”.
To reach the formal clearness of his works, the artist uses one of the first 3d software (almost 10 year old) and runs it through the most advanced technology now available in the pc market. The result is a completely personal synthesis of archaeological and digital innovation.

The show is composed by photographic works of various dimensions and a video installation.
