On April 21, Piteglio (PT) is the Feast of Sweet Flour.
Like every Easter Monday in Piteglio is celebrated together the "Big Day". According to tradition, the inhabitants of the country, coal miners often forced to emigrate to work in Maremma, in Corsica or Sardinia, returning home for the Easter holidays.
In the afternoon, from 14:00, the party starts, also remembered as the Merendina. There will be an opportunity to taste delicacies together flour-based sweet, a typical product of the Pistoia mountains. There will then necci, pancakes, chestnut, sweet polenta and also wanting sandwiches with sausage, accompanied by wine.
There are also many stalls selling local products such as cake flour, cheese made from raw milk, curd, honey, jams, syrups and liqueurs with berries. For the occasion, the Bell Tower will be open and will be guided tours of the Tower and the Church.
