Supernova bring Mobilee to London as part of their Back To Back tour...
The last year or so has been a whirlwind ride for Belfast producer and DJ Garry McCartney aka Ejeca. He's gone from zero to hero thanks to garage infused, pumping house EPs on labels like Needwant, Sasha's Last Night On Earth and 2020 Vision, as well as playing Berlin, Ibiza and Belfast, often in the same weekend. His considered but uplifting sound is rich with synth detail and has found favour with everyone from Kerri Chandler to Bicep, so his skills have not gone unnoticed.
Backing him up is someone who has released Ejeca on his much loved label, namely widely respected producer, DJ and resident Ralph Lawson of 2020 Soundsytem and 2020 Vision fame. In his time he has produced with greats like Chez Damier but it is his skills as a DJ that really set Ralph apart.
Mobilee records was launched in 2005 and quickly established itself as one of the brightest new stars in Berlin's glittering galaxy of electronic music labels, producers and DJs. Founded and owned by Anja Schneider and Ralf Kollmann, the label boasts a sound that is simultaneously familiar and innovative.
Based on the timeworn structures of house and techno, mobilee's approach is a triple threat: its records reference vintage dancefloor minimalism, trade ideas with like-minded contemporaries, and suggest surprising new directions for a genre that has weathered both hype and backlash-yet keeps on clicking.
Representing the label tonight are three of its key family members in the form of Rodriguez JR, Ray Okpara and Ranacat, who all go back to back.
