Drive It Day encourages our 500-plus club members and their supporters plus other historic vehicle enthusiasts to use yesterday’s two, three, four or more wheeled vehicles for a day to celebrate the UK’s transport heritage at its finest.
All owners of historic vehicles were encouraged to take to the roads on the 27th April 2014 to demonstrate how many historic and interesting machines are still on the road today.
In 2013 the FBHVC team attended a number of the many events and in celebration of our 25th anniversary made special arrangements with the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon, which is home to the world’s largest collection of British historic cars. Centrally positioned Gaydon made a good start point, intermediate waypoint to visit en-route and an excellent location to finish a day’s run. FBHVC team members will be attending again in 2014.
In addition in 2014 the FBHVC will have a people at Brooklands, Cotswold Motoring Museum, Bressingham Steam and Garden Centre and Lakeland Motor Museum. All locations which like Gaydon, would be good start, way-point or end-point locations.
In addition the FBHVC Secretary, Rosy Pugh, will be at, Bishopstone, near Swindon, which last year played host to over 120 vehicles of all types, ages and sizes during the day and all enjoyed the party atmosphere and the lovely sunshine.
