We are delighted to start our new jazz night at La Pizzica Restaurant in London with a new emergent contemporary jazz quartet.
Multidirectional is the latest Rha Stranges' project. This first album called “Quello Che Non Ho Capito Del Jazz”, has been recorded in south Italy (october 2012) with some of the greatest musicians in the Italian jazz scene such as Gaetano Partipilo alto sax, Gianni Lenoci on piano, Francesco Angiuli on double bass and Pietro Rosato on bass clarinet, and one of the new emergent-skilled guitar player in UK Jamie Leeming.
The Great marimba player Filippo Lattanzi is also featuring as special guest.
The music of this album is a mix of contemporary jazz with different influence from African music, free jazz, folk music and classical but still very related to the original idea of jazz music.
Jean-Marie Ecay, Billy Cobam's guitar player has already described the music as a great example of contemporary jazz-influenced album played with “maturity”.
