Featuring Mary Hartman, Singer Songwriter, Karen E. Reynolds, Doug Gill and Lynn Langham
ABOUT THE WRITERS:
"....one of those special writers that can take you down that road of everyday life with her songs. Simply stated Mary Hartman is someone who writes what she feels, and feels what she sings."-Music News Nashville
A gifted and talented songwriter, as well as an artist who has "burst onto the scene", Mary is a common sight at venues in and around Nashville, such as the Bluebird, Douglas Corner and the Commodore, hosting and appearing in rounds. Described as “unique”, “eclectic”, “dark”, “complex”, “rough around the edges”, and even “out of the box”, Mary isn't one who follows the trend. Instead she pulls from deeper influences such as Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, along with drawing inspiration from personal experiences and observing the 'human condition.' Mary has shared stages with some of the most celebrated and prolific songwriters in Nashville and they all regularly clamor to be in one of her writers rounds, knowing that it will always be something special.
Doug Gill has spent the last thirty years writing, recording and performing music in Nashville. He has had songs recorded by a long and illustrious list of artists, including Patty Loveless, Pam Tillis, Chris LeDoux, Tammy Wynette, Wynonna and the Marshall Tucker Band. Doug's song "I Just Come Here For The Music" was recorded by Don Williams and Alison Krauss and received a Grammy nomination. Recently, Don Williams released a new cd that includes Doug's song, "Stronger Back.' Doug is the owner of Peacehouse Music, and has just completed a second studio album.
Lynn Langham has opened shows for John Prine, Rodney Crowell, Cheech and Chong, Leon Redbone, Asleep at the Wheel and Larry Gatlin, to name a few. As a staff writer for Hayes Street Music in Nashville, she has had songs recorded by Wynonna, Ty Herndon, Trisha Yearwood and Holly Dunn among others. She has also had numerous songs released by independent artists, including "Trains", in collaboration with Texas artist Bonnie Bishop, which was in the Texas top ten for several months. Most recently, Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell recorded her song "Old Yellow Moon" as the title track for their duet album, which received both a Grammy and an AMA award for Americana Album of the Year. Her beautiful, contemplative songs and a delivery of pure honey and southern smoke make Lynn Langham one of the most spellbinding performers you will ever see and hear.
