Whereas the hot summer of 2011 drew nearly everyone to the local beach or bar, snipping colourful cocktails, four dudes spent their leisure time at an old dirty practice room, drinking beer and trying to figure out what the heart of every band is; riffs, riffs and yes, even more riffs. Not restricting themselves to any kind of genre, they shamlessly draw influences from your mum‘s lovely hippie bands of the 70s, to classic desert-driven Stoner-Rock, over to deep doom and fuzzy Sludge Riffs. Sativa Root play instrumental music, covering the full range between heavy discordant parts and soft melodic passages.
We shared the stage with bands like:
Kylesa, Red Fang, Planet of Zeus, Weedeater, Black Tusk, Naam, Underdogs, The Black Rainbows and others

The GreySouls born in September 2008, inspired by the rock genre of the early Black Sabbath.
This band came to life by Dario and Alino's idea, who began to search for other members to create the project. For vocals they chose Alina and for second guitar Francesco, both friends of theirs. There was no appointed drummer but after some research they met Maurizio, suggested by a friend of the rising band, who decided to join up the group.
The band started its way performing some Black Sabbath old stuff and their debut took place at the Beer Festival in Usella, on June 2009, with the name of Orchid.
After having perfomed in some bars and clubs near Prato, situation did change for them: one of the members, Francesco, left the band for personal reasons, so Orchid remained in 4 members. That time was also the beginning for writing their own songs, always trying to remain faithful to the "Sabbath" style of the '70s.
They kept on playing with the name of Orchid, until March/April 2011, then they decided to change the name with GreySouls.
Today, the line-up sees Alina on vocals, Dario on bass guitar, Alino on guitar and Maurizio on the drums.
