Join us on June 21, 2014 — the first day of Summer — as the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center hosts WestFest, a community event celebrating the completion of the sidewalks, streets, and Guadalupe Theater parking lot improvements. These improvements are all part of the Guadalupe Cultural Corridor initiative, designed to connect the Guadalupe neighborhood with the center city and make the historic Westside an even better place to live, work, and play.
The event will be divided into three parts: a free family-oriented celebration during the day, taking place in the Guadalupe Theater parking lot and the new corner patio surrounding the Guadalupanita Café. The day will be filled with art activities, music, dance performances, food, and family entertainment for the whole community. As evening falls, the celebration moves into the Guadalupe Theater for the WestFest Gala, a ticketed event featuring dinner, music, a Silent Auction, and a “Dessert Dash.” As dinner concludes, the WestFest Concert, featuring the renowned MEXICAN INSTITUTE OF SOUND from Mexico City will be taking the stage in the new Guadalupe Theater parking lot, with a VIP area featuring food and drink for Gala guests, and a Concessions Area for Concert ticketholders.
Free Family Celebration: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
WestFest Gala: 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
WestFest Concert: 8 p.m. – 11 p.m.
