ARROWS OF LOVE (LONDON) + special guest (announced soon).
Gli ARROWS OF LOVE sono una band grunge-punk di Londra e faranno tappa per il loro tour italiano al Viterbo al GLITTER CAFE’.
London grunge-punk band Arrows of Love have teamed with punk label 1-2-3-4 Records, to release theirdebut album “Everything’s Fucked”, mastered by Bob Weston of Shellac.
1-2-3-4 Records has had a history of breaking new bands, from Babyshambles first release to Whitey, before then concentrating on the successful 10,000 capacity London punk festival, 1-2-3-4 Festival. The Arrows of Love album represents the first release from the infamous label in 2 years, heralding their return to action.
The album itself has seen collaboration with legend Bob Weston, of the mighty Shellac, who has mastered the record, as well as production contribution from Patrick Constable of Selfish C**T, Rory Attwell of Test Icicles/Kasms,Richard Warren, and includes guitar-playing from Luis Felber of Turbogeist.
So….“Everything’s Fucked”? That’s a matter of opinion, but if it is, judging by their recorded output so far Arrows Of Love are going screaming writhing, thrashing, flailing.
Because this London five-piece recall a time when alternative rock was the last refuge of the freaks and fuck-ups – those who wanted to kick up an aural stink. When the young and unwashed made music not as career move but because there was simply nothing else they could do. With such pure intentions, Arrows Of Love are pulling loud indie rock back from the dilettantes and poseurs. Taking it down to the gutter.
Picture if you will a Venn diagram where the art-punk of Pussy Galore, Country Teasers and Sonic Youth intersects with the twisted psychedelia of Silver Apples and the true grunge of Bleach-era Nirvana or the violent blues of Jesus Lizard.
Now take that Venn diagram and burn it.

“With twitches of guitar, sinister thumping drums, and a bassline that’s darker than The Horror’s wardrobe, ‘Honey’ paints AoL as less of a London fivesome and more of a supergroup of villains (the line-up could just as easily read: Darth Vader, the Bogeyman, Mr Burns, Bowser and Jeremy Hunt).” ARTROCKER Single Of The Month
“…fused with a soaring, enviable energy.. When the song finally reaches its sudden end, there is a happiness instilled that this kind of music still exists, coupled with an eagerness to hear it again… Just play it now, and play it loud.” VULTUREHOUND MAG (on Honey)
“With clamourous guitars and a frenzy of schizophrenic drumming, accompanied by blinding lights which create an energy so dark they render a state of phantasmagoria” ARTROCKER Live Review
