ArtZone 461 Gallery is at risk of losing our location. We’ve launched a Kickstarter Campaign to raise funds for the Gallery to remain operating in this space.
KICKSTARTER PROJECT APPROVED!
We’re announcing the launch of our Kickstarter Project. If you’re not familiar with crowd-based fundraising platforms, this is an example of one Art Gallery’s approach to seeking private donations, using Kickstarter, in an environment of great risk for all art spaces. Each Kickstarter campaign involves completing an arts-related project. Their website hosts the mechanisms for private fundraising as well as providing an accounting at the end of the Project.
An aspect of the Kickstarter platform is that it’s an all-or-nothing venture and runs for a short time. If a project doesn’t reach the goal, all pledges, monies, etc. are returned to contributors.
We have dedicated all our resources, the proverbial blood, sweat and tears, to keep the Gallery open these past six years. For the first time we are actively seeking your assistance. We are truly at a turning point of having increased sales that we attribute to the many new residents in the Mission and the mid-Market neighborhoods and other, nearby new residents and potential clients.
ArtZone is a venue that exhibits local, San Francisco and Bay Area artists only. The Gallery Project is to self-publish a high quality, hardcover book containing images and information on works exhibited in the gallery since opening on Valencia Street in June of 2008. In this time the Gallery has hosted over seventy-five exhibits and welcomed over forty thousand (40,000) visitors. Unfortunately, only a very small percentage of visitors actually patronize the Gallery.

ArtZone 461 Gallery deserves support as it has made a significant contribution to the San Francisco Bay Area cultural scene in the past six years. The Book Project goal is $18,000 and donations can be made through a link on the Gallery website ( http://artzone461.com/AZ-Kickstarter.html ) or directly through Kickstarter’s ( link below ). The Gallery believes distribution of its Book will bring additional clients and importantly, exposure for Gallery Artists. Being published also provides a means of introducing these Artists, their skills and talent to museums, institutions and other public entities. The ArtZone’s on-line project is creative in ‘bestowing’ British royalty ranks to donors or book sponsors. An entry-level donation of ten dollars provides a rank of Knight or Dame, higher levels are reserved for King, Queen or Emperor. Please Act Now, and importantly, please share with family, friends, co-workers and business owners. Because donations are not tax deductible, we will publish a separate book insert that lists donors so that business owners may expense a portion of their donation to advertising.
