This in an invite to the premiere of my solo live performance, American Boy, at Sadler's Wells, London. Not many tickets left now so do book soon if you're planning to come! I'd love it if you can make it.
Hopefully see you soon,
How much do movies influence us?
Delving into American movie and homegrown TV culture, I’m taking to the stage in my first solo performance for the theatre. American Boy is a personal and humorous take on identity shape-shifting, made almost entirely from film quotes. It’s a self-portrait collaged from Hollywood.
Through vocal and physical imitations, I’ll be conjuring up film characters from my playground days: see Agent Smith from the Matrix get physical with Spider-Man whilst Eddie Murphy argues with Michael Caine.
And most importantly of all, the show will feature my new Spider-Man suit for which I’m in the middle of an indulgently geeky three month process of hand-making and painting. Not to be missed!
