Filmarmalade presents Pil & Galia Kollectiv

IMT Gallery Unit 2, 210 Cambridge Heath Road, Londra, Regno Unito

Filmarmalade are proud to present Pil & Galia Kollectiv’s film work Suck The Living Labour, Roman Vasseur’s book work Dead Stock and a reading of Light In Dust Tree All by Annabel Frearson

“Ghouls, ghosts, werewolves and vampires form a rich layer of imagery in Karl Marx’s Capital

These monsters continue to haunt discussions of capitalism as metaphors for consumerism, greed, the modern bureaucratic management of life and, mostly, systems of labour

The event will explore these links between politics, art and the gothic imagination through presentations and screenings of work by Roman Vasseur, Annabel Frearson and Pil & Galia Kollectiv, followed by a discussion between the artists about spectres of the market and the demonology of Capital”

Pil and Galia Kollectiv have recently shown work at Trade, Nottingham, and Ort, Birmingham, as well as the Athens Biennial and the Stedelijk Museum. Roman Vasseur recently had a solo exhibition at Cubitt, and Annabel Frearson has exhibited at xero, kline & coma and the Camden Arts Centre

Filmarmalade is an artists book work publisher and DVD label specialising in contemporary artistsʼ film and video works. Every year Filmarmalade publish a series of works, selected through both invited and open submission, with the aim of encouraging wider access to the moving image. Filmarmalade also specially commission interviews to accompany each publication to provide a greater understanding of how video and film artists situate their work in relation to the history of art and contemporary fine art practice. Filmarmalade is a project by the artist Gordon Shrigley. The entire Filmarmalade collection is held at the British Artistsʼ Film & Video Study Collection.
