Center for New Music 55 Taylor Street, San Francisco, California, Stati Uniti

Local and international artists (musicians and dancers) meet to perform an evening of improvisation, creating spatial interaction and sonic abstraction in between the different bodies (body of sound and human body).

Sonic Body series#6:

1/ Christine Bonansea + Zachary James Watkins

Zachary James Watkins is a sound artist who has earned degrees in composition from The Cornish School and Mills College. Zachary has received numerous grants and commissions and presented works in festivals across the United States, Mexico and Germany. His 2006 composition Suite for String Quartet was awarded the Paul Merritt Henry Prize for Composition and has been performed as part of the 2nd Annual New Music Marathon in Seattle, WA the Labs 25th Anniversary Celebration and the Labor Sonor Series at Kule in Berlin. Zachary has enjoyed artist residencies at both the Espy Foundation and Djerassi. He currently teaches Electronic Music at UCSC.

Christine Bonansea a multi disciplinary performer artist and choreographer. Graduated in French Dance National Dance school, she studied with Regine Chopinot, Mathilde Monnier and Catherine Diverres among other great artists in Europe. She’s been performing internationally with numbers of companies as Faustin Linyekula, Companie Allias, Sara Shelton Mann, ALTERNATIVA, Katie Duck, Tino Sehgal, Nita Little. Her recent works has been seen performed at Movement research-New York City, ODC-San Francisco, Dock 11- Berlin, the Whenever wherever Festival-Tokyo and the Judson Church in NYC. Supported by Theater Bay area CASH Grant, the Zellerbach Family foundation and the French Consulate of San Francisco, she’s also resident artist in theaters and art spaces in the Bay area.

2/ Abby Crain + Adam Sonderberg

Adam Sonderberg is a composer and procrastinator, one-third of Haptic, and former co-director of the Dropp Ensemble. He is the author of the recently published Older, Less Explicit Promises of Failure (Compost and Height) and maintains the blog American Hours with German Efficiency.

Abby Crain is an Oakland based artist who makes dances and other scores for performance in fields, living rooms, tennis courts, museums, and the theater. She is one half of Artworkouts with Margit Galanter and is engaged in an ongoing collaboration around language and performance with Oakland poet, David Buuck.

3/ Vitali Kononov + Rosemary Hannon


nonoDance Project is an art project influenced by the conceptual frames of postmodernism, minimalism, somatics, integral theory and performance art.
