BURN AFTER READING
"Burn After Reading is a community of young and emerging poets led by Jacob Sam-La Rose and Jasmine Cooray, representing a diverse range of page and performance poetics. Its members have graced stages up and down the country. Tonight, they're represented by Harriet Creelman, Antosh Wojcik, Greer Dewdney and Amaal Said."

SAMI CHOKRI (@sami_chokri)
'From poetry nights in Brighton and a performance at Edinburgh fringe festival to the depth of despair Sami Chokri's life has taken him places he hardly believes himself. His father Tunisian, his mother Irish, he has always strived to find his own way in the world. The studio became his second home from just sixteen but after losing his way he all but gave up with his music and tried to bring focus to his life with University. However this was not to last & Sami disappeared, without a phone, he traveled across the country, finding out for himself the highs and lows of the world around him. A bottle of wine and names in a hat he lived between halls, trying to find a place to call his own. It was the release of the spontaneous 'Ocean Of Pain' that would act as the turning point, moving back home to Reading to focus on his music he is now moving from strength to strength with new material set to be released within the next few months.'

VEDINA MOSE (@vedinamose)
Vedina Mosé- the notorious Diva of the Diaspora serves Renegade cerebral Soul, infused with an afro-kabaret twist, dance and storytelling. Protest songs, torch songs and tribal chants. Think of what would happen if Judy Garland and Nina Simone were a lesbian couple and had a child using Fela Kuti as sire. Sly stone and Grace Jones were Godparents and Betty Davis was midwife…!!!
After cutting her teeth working with artists as diverse as Freddy Macha and Kitoto band, Manu Chao she released an album with London funk/soul outfit August. The album, “it’s not the wand, it’s the magic” was well received but due to an ever increasing desire to explode the boundaries of music and performance and reach people in a completely 4d fashion, she set off on her own to craft songs, poems and moods that reflect the diversity of life and it’s rich experiences.
