The return of the mighty RITON!

It's nearly 10 years since we first welcomed a fresh faced Henry Smithson AKA Riton into the black basement of the Legends Tunnel where he played a live set of tracks from his then second album Homies and Homos. We like our guests to be eclectic and somewhat unpredictable and Henry is definitely that.

Riton cut his teeth as a DJ and producer in Manchester after he was signed to hip hop label Grand Central Records releasing his first album Beats Du Jour which mixed breaks, beats, beeps, jazz and samples. Homies and Homos took a surprise electro turn and he's been surprising us ever since.... adventures with Ben 'Fat' Trucker as The Gucci Soundsystem saw Henry back on the decks at HomoElectric in 2006.

He's gone on to play around the world, release tracks on Get Physical, Erol Alkan's Phantasy and of course the infamous Ed Banger records where he teamed up with the much missed DJ Medhi. He's mixed compilations for We Love Space, and The Warehouse Project, remixed an eclectic array of artists from Kid Sister to The Human League, Chromeo and Annie. Under the alias of 'Eine Kleine Nacht Musik’ he ventured into Kraut Rock territory which also included an electronic rendering of Vivaldi's La Serenissima turning it into a dance floor bomb... who could have predicted that?

His latest mix tape takes in collaborations with M.I.A. as well as RnB Samples and a whole lot of rave making effects.

As always with us.....expect the unexpected.
