Our moot for the month of May considers art and crisis, from the personal and private sphere to more collective and shared experiences.
We will discuss how crisis can both hinder and support creativity. We will also consider the place of celebration in personal and public pursuits in art. How do contemporary sanctioned forms of celebration shape our cultural and personal fibre? Is there space for celebration in the midst of crisis? Can art establish new ways of mediating crisis and extending cause for celebration? How can we justify celebration in the face of current global crises?
You are welcome to bring examples of your own work and/or other's for inclusion in the discussion.
