Jordie’s story begins like so many other kitties that find themselves sitting in a county shelter hoping that someone will come along and adopt them, or a rescue will step in and save them from that word that we only whisper ever so softly. Jordie was one of the lucky ones. The first chapter of his story was written when Southern California Siamese Rescue stepped in and pulled him from San Bernardino Animal Control’s “E” list. He was now safe, and on his way to a better life.
This handsome Wedgehead Siamese (The Wedgehead Siamese is very slender and elegant. It has a very lean, muscular body that is supported by long, graceful legs, with an elongated neck and tail. The head is smooth and wedge shape with large ears. The eyes are almond shape and are set at a slant) was given the name Jordie and quickly went into foster with one of the rescues foster mom’s, Mandy. His picture was introduced on their Facebook page, and far away, all the way across the country in Charleston, SC, Lynn saw Jordie’s story and his life was about to change again.
“As a prior foster mom with Southern CA Siamese Rescue, I was known as the ‘wedgie foster, since I am crazy in love with the Wedgehead Siamese. I moved from San Diego to Charleston, SC, in February. I first saw Jordie’s sad shelter photo on Feb. 27 on our Facebook page. Poor boy was dropped in the night box and stated stray. My heart went out to him and it was love at first sight. He was rescued on March 5 by our organization and taken into foster care.”
Lynn never thought it would possible to get Jordie, but thankfully she is friends Shelley Mayfield, who not only volunteered with Siamese Rescue, but is huge supporter and member of URRKN. Shelley helped Lynn submit the request for transport and another chapter in Jordie’s story was written. Lynn has already made up a picture book of him with his pictures from the shelter, and more recent ones that his foster mom has posted. Lynn says she is so excited to meet him and will be glued to the computer for updates during his trip cross country.
Jordie’s ticket was punched, but as plans got underway for his transport something wonderful happened! A Flying Angel stepped in to let us know she would be flying from San Francisco, CA to Charleston, SC, and would love to take a kitty along with her!
Jordie will only need 5 Conductors to help get him from Southern California to his Flying in Angel in Belmont, CA. Wouldn’t you love to be a part of the next chapter in Jordie’s story, and an important player in his happy ever after?
