Inspired by the likes of Michael Hurley, Bob Dylan, J.G Ballard, Takoma formed in 2009 in London (UK).
Singersongwriter Stefano Podda met drummer and multi instrumentalist Nick Rivera at a Smog show, they were overly fascinated by cockney talk and always new weirder Scotch whisky names.
They played house parties, pubs and bathrooms since, mostly around town with guitar, ukulele, and a roland keyboard they never plugged in.
6 months after they were touring Europe with Chicago One-man band Juffage.
With a heavy DIY drive, By the end of 2012 Takoma had put out 2 indipendent releases.
In 2011 guitarist/vocalist Ettore Menomanni joined in as the band moved to Italy and resume touring.
On stage Takoma sounds crunchy, tense and soulful, with bitter blues guitar riffs and unique vocal harmonies.
