Prepare For Battle At 750 Festival

Lewes Railway Land Lewes, East Sussex, UK

Order tickets via Eventbrite:

"Prepare for Battle @ 750” is a once in a life time family experience for all ages run by young people of Sussex. The festival is inspired by LYT's ground breaking project “The Battle of Lewes Experience in 4D”

In September 2012, Lewes Youth Theatre (LYT) applied for a Heritage Lottery Found bid to secure the funds we needed to pull off this groundbreaking new project. Since then we have been working hard as a team along with volunteers to produce an unforgettable, once in a lifetime festival for all ages and generations to remember. The festival is set at Lewes's Nature Reserve, the Railway land. While at our festival you will be surrounded by beautiful unspoilt scenery from the South Downs.

Our festival is giving young people the chance to voice their opinions on Britain's voting system as well as politicians having 5-15 minutes to explain why democracy is good! We will also have a bead voting system showing the votes before and after the politicians have spoken.

The three day festival will include: , Live music, Theatre, An Interactive Democracy Den (similar to a Big Brother diary room), Hustings in living medieval village (where politicians around the country have been invited to speak), three day camp, a silent disco, De Monk Dance Troup, Folky Fish, Medieval history, legend and archery by Bowlore, Medieval camp, Resident band - Kalamus, drumming by Stix, workshops and activities for all ages, open fires, storytelling for all, a bar, lovely fresh food and MOST importantly a brand new unseen play by John Agard on the birth of English democracy to mark the 750th anniversary of The Battle of Lewes 1264!
