First Floor Theater presents:
Tollbooth: A Clown Show
April 24 - May 18, 2014
Tollbooth is a clown and object theater piece for all ages, directed by Will Bishop and Scott Ray Merchant. Loosely inspired by The Phantom Tollbooth, the performance was devised with a core ensemble of clowns and a large team of visual artists and builders, and is presented in partnership with the Chicago Park District.
Thursdays & Fridays at 7 pm, Saturdays at 3pm & 6pm, and Sundays at 3pm.
Humboldt Park Field House West Gym
1400 N. Sacramento Chicago, IL
Set in an interactive, re-imagined children's birthday party, Tollbooth explores the wonder inherent in the world around us, celebrating the power of imagination to change the world.
This show also pilots First Floor's education program, helmed by Head Teaching Artist Claire Stone. Every Sunday before the performance, our teaching artists will lead children from the Humboldt Park community in a free workshop that focuses on clowning and shadow puppetry to engage and encourage imagination and confidence.
