Zurich, Switzerland Uster, Svizzera

ARE YOU READY FOR THE ALPS ????

here's some highlights of the proposed EuroTour:
estimates:
airfare to Zurich or Munich out of Boston - $1500
July or August ?
(dates and gateway are flexible)

Bike rental
depends on bike you choose; historically I have gone to Moto-Mader in
Zurich, they have BMW and Yamaha: check out their selection (prices
are in Swiss Franc, 1 Ch Fr= $1); expect group discount as well as
weekly rate
http://www.moto-mader.ch/mader_content/03_miete/mietbedingungen.php?language=DE
be prepared for leaving $1500-2000 security deposit; returned if bike
is returned intact .....

Lodging
We will stay in guesthause, pensions, and zimmerfrei (eat, drink,
sleep; clean rooms w/shower and hearty breakfast) along the way.
check out my favorite outside Munich

our favorite in Italy

or our favorite in the Black Forest

This will give you an idea of accomodations

gasoline
is readily available, of course, but at $6-8 gallon;credit cards work
(tell your credit card company you're going to Europe); but cash is
king! Most everywhere is on the Euro (1 Euro = $1.40 today). Exchange
dollars for Euros or Swiss Franc easily at local banks in Europe

Passport is needed; but no medical concerns or visas needed; crossing
borders is painless.

The ride is technical!! Expect to go through some of the most talked
about passes in Europe such as Giau, Falzarrego, Pordoi, Albula,
Furka, Susten, and of course the Mecca of all passes, Stelvio.
Here's a glimpse:

And I haven't even mentioned :
the passes and beauty of the Italian Dolomites (and good food and drink)
The specatacular GrossGlockner Pass in Austria
The castles of Germany
The history and sites of Munich (and Dachau)
the warmth of the people you will meet and the beauty of their culture

go to my website and read the journals of tours past...you won't be
disappointed.
THIS IS DEFINITELY ON YOUR BUCKETLIST!!!!

PS: this is not a profit center for me, you pay as you go; no whiners allowed!

Let me know if you have any other questions; commitment needed by June
