The LucaNichetto brand, designed by the Italian-Swedish, Luca Nichetto Design Studio and produced by the Portuguese, De La Espada, welcomes two new products during New York Design Week.
Presented with a capsule fashion collection created by Yulia Yadryshnikova, meticulous detailing and expert craft are underscored, both collections reflecting the ethos of the other.
The 50/50 collection is a modern take on Italian furniture design, where luxury is in the details. Designed in the spirit of the great architects of the 1950’s, the collection is conceived as a complete environment. Products are revealed throughout the year at special exhibitions that draw parallels between different craft disciplines.
The first product, Elysia, was introduced in February at the renowned tailor shop, Bauer Atelier in Stockholm, where fine upholstery and expert tailoring intersected. For the occasion, one Elysia was upholstered with a fabric that is normally used for making suits.
Episode II of the 50/50 collection introduces two new products for New York Design Week: Stanley sofa, its exposed timber frame and generous upholstery celebrating the expert craft and superior comfort; and Laurel Coffee and Side Tables, which merge geometric forms and contrasting materials to intriguing effect.
Each product is designed by Luca Nichetto and manufactured in premium materials by De La Espada craftsmen in Portugal.
The furniture is presented at New York Design Week alongside three dresses and two coats created for this event by the Russian fashion designer and pattern maker, Yulia Yadryshnikova, including a reinterpretation of the Stanley sofa as a sofa cover conceived to be worn as an elegant dress.
