On this special Friday Night Marijn Brouwers will be presenting his new album, La Bohème with special guest Liesbeth List. Together, they will sing Jij (She).
The album 'La Bohème' consists of thirteen fresh, contemporary versions of songs by Charles Aznavour, mostly translated by Marijn Brouwers himself into Dutch. Aznavour’s bitter-sweet numbers often focus on the theme of love and the passing of time. Marijn has turned them into cinematic portraits of himself, Aznavour and the eternally fascinating city of Paris. He collaborated on 'La Bohème' with the producer Sebastiaan Koolhoven (who has also worked with Wende Snijders and the Concertgebouw and Metropool orchestras), Ton Snijders (Liesbeth List, Frank Boeijen) and the pianist Marc-Peter van Dijk.
Marijn made his name with his one-man show 'Beste meneer Halsema', a tribute to the singer and comedian Frans Halsema. A Dutch theatre tour, the release of his 'Halsema' album and a sold-out Concertgebouw showed just how enthusiastically the public and press have embraced Marijn Brouwers and his music.
Marijn is now embarking on the try-outs of his new theatre show 'Bon Anniversaire', in which he performs Dutch versions of Charles Aznavour’s repertoire.
