Opening evening 4pm until 9.30pm– Castle Arena
6pm Samba Tawe and children’s procession from the main Castle keep into the Festival Arena.
Guest speaker to open event for weekend.

An afternoon of authors, readings and poetry. All with a Dylan Thomas twist!

Jackie Morris – Author and illustrator
Hear her discuss and showcase her internationally bestselling picture books include The Ice Bear, The Snow Leopard, Can You See a Little Bear? Plus lots more.

Jeff Towns – Dispelling the Dylan myth!

Gary Phillips Trio “A taste of South America”
Guitarist Gary Phillips has been a musical director for many touring American and British Blues/Soul artists and is band leader of one of Wales most popular bands the Amigos. With his new trio he will be playing a set of South American, Latin and Blues.
Ticket price: £5 Adults Advanced. Children (up to 2) free accompanied by an adult
Entrance: 1pm to 2pm

Vip Marquee - The Gents
Sam VIne (piano) and Dylan Goldring (drums)
Two brilliantly talented young jazz musicians. Sam Vine has been accepted onto the prestigious Jazz performance course at London’s Trinity College.
Ticket price: £2 Adults Advanced. Children (up to 2) free accompanied by an adult
Entrance: 2pm to 3pm

Stringfellows “Blues with a Soulful edge”
Led by one of Wales’ top guitarists, Taff Williams. Taff has played with, supported and accompanied hundreds of household names over the years, including Bonnie Tyler, David Essex, Man, Frank Zappa and Black Sabbath. Stringfellows play a mixture of Blues/Jazz /Rock music and features vocalist Dawn Sandells.

Dave Cottle Trio “Jazz from the movies”
Dave (piano) with Alun Vaughan (bass and Paul Smith (drums) have been the house trio at Swansea Jazzland for 15 years. During that time they have worked with most of the UK’s leading jazz artists. The trio has built a reputation as one of the most accomplished jazz trio’s outside of London. Featuring a set of jazz from film music.
