Details are as follows.
On Saturday June 14th 2014 we are organising a group sky watch on the site of The Great Orme which is in the seaside town of Llandudno, North Wales. The summit is accessible via 2 roads that reach the summit of the Orme and day times there are trams that run to the summit a long with cable cars. At the summit there are daytime facilities including a cafe, gift shop, pub, toilets and a small museum dedicated to the abduction incident that happened on the mountain back in 1997 that made national news.
There is a car park at the summit so for those wanting to keep warm, you could still get a great view from the luxury of your car. We have also been told that we can use a cafe's car park which is private and secure for anyone wanting to sleep in their cars. For anyone attending essentials would be a good torch or flash light and warm suitable clothing.
I have booked a campsite which is near by to Llandudno I will post details. The farm is adequate for camping and has shower and toilet facilities the cost is £14 a tent per night which is reasonable. But you will have to be responsible for booking your own spaces as they are not keen on large groups as they are an elderly couple.
