I am sending this email to ask for all of your help and support. Some of you may or may not know that I am a stage 2 Testicular Cancer survivor. Today I ask for your help and support to raise cancer awareness and help save more lives like my own. Many people do not check for lumps or bumps and sadly Cancer is not diagnosed until it’s too late. This can be primarily due to lack of awareness e.g. How to self check etc I aim to change this. Since my diagnosis I have became the national rep for LIVESTRONG (Scotland) and do loads of work and charity fundraising voluntarily.
On Sunday 18/05/14 at 1pm I am looking for volunteers not just to support my diagnosis but all types of Cancer and do this for LIVESTRONG Day. Everyone in some way has been affected by Cancer and this can be your way of raising nationwide awareness. This is not a sponsorship event but more about raising awareness. We will do a relay run round Strathclyde Park 1 at a time then as a team afterwards. I also need every participant to shave all their hair off in support of millions who are currently undergoing Cancer treatment today. There is one national newspaper wanting pictures before and after the event and are going to run a story (Evening Times) and also a couple of local newspapers.
I know this is a big ask but shaving your hair and running is nothing compared to what Cancer patients go through everyday so please let me know if you wish to join me ASAP as the event and Newspaper interviews should be very soon.
We are also looking for as many supporters as possible to help hand out wristbands and water to participants and also give moral support!
