Confession presents Livio & Roby, Russ Yallop & Guests @ Crucifix Lane Sat 5th July 2014 10pm-6am.
After the astounding party back in February with the music on point and the line up headed off by Butch, it was extremely difficult to find a suitable venue and acts to follow through with. The next Confession moves home, staying south and ever so slightly moving closer to the throbbing heart of London’s underground musical scene. This session delves into Crucifix Lane with its Nova line array sound system and journeys into a more intimate and underground space. Armed with an extra room set to showcase and explore more hot talent from the Capital’s party scene and sticking firmly to its musical ethos of assimilating some of the globe’s hottest underground Acts (alongside the UK’s foremost up and coming Producers & DJs).
Romania duo Livio & Roby are flying in to headline this bill, these two truly have evolved into ambassadors of deep funk-blended tech-house on some of the leading labels in the scene with releases on Cocoon, Cadenza, Desolat, Viva, Cecile & Supernature to name but a few. Expect a backbeat of warm-swung loops that drift towards the sounds of early house and never fail to unwind with a looped combination of stunning tones, subtle synths and intricate drums. Livio & Roby are one of the most visible names of the deep house resurgence with their signature sound exercising their persistent reference to a winning Chicago and Detroit compound, sitting on the deep percussive side of house that has earned them their respected place in the electronic scene.
Joining the Romanians at the DJ console will be exploding underground sensation Crosstown Rebels’ rising Producer & DJ Russ Yallop. While some producers spend years finding their feet, Russ made a clear statement of intent with ‘I Can’t Wait’ his debut release on Crosstown Rebels, a solid cut of nu-school house that was charted across the board by everyone from Jamie Jones to MANDY. With releases on Rebellion, Hot Creations, No.19, Hot Waves, Losing Suki, Foot & Mouth, Leftroom & Mothership, part of a new breed of DJs, with studio skills to match, Yallop’s sound is infected with warm charm and boundless energy. Fusing fun into dance music again, Russ and his UK-based peers are creating a new strain of house music that is currently taking the worldwide underground by storm.
