After following Lucy Claire's work for the last year, we're excited to be bringing some old friends together to host this launch party for the first in a series of her collaborations EPs.
A soundscape artist and a contemporary classical composer with influences from the likes of Satie, Peter Broderick and Bjork. Her music has a very organic heart to it with a style so unique and diverse, that it has moved fans of a huge range of music and resulted in Lucy performing to classical, electronic, acoustic and post-rock audiences, as well as live performances on BBC London's breakfast show and BBC6 Music's The Tom Robinson Show.
A graduate of London’s Royal College of Music, Lucy incorporates binaural recordings into her own brand of lush, expansive string and piano based textures, creating something truly original. Her debut E.P 'Suite' was released on label This Is It Forever and caused a wave of positive reviews and led to approval from the CMU.
This evening we will see Lucy Claire perform works from 'Collaborations No 1' using piano and electronics with a string quartet and featuring singer Alev Lenz and producer Bruised Skies.
CD copies of the EP will be available, including a download with remixes by Ghosting Season and Message to Bears.

Leah Kardos and Jim Perkins
Almost three years after we worked with electronic classical composer Leah Kardos on the launch of her debut album 'Feather Hammer', we're delighted to be back together.
Tonight we will see bigo & twigetti artists Leah Kardos and Jim Perkins performing new collaborative material using piano, electronics and string quartet, as well as selected works from Leah's second album 'Machines', a concept album with lyrics made up from cut up spam emails, which will feature singer Laura Wolk-Lewanowicz - Soprano.
We will also hear them perform new material by Jim Perkins, which will be released later in the year on bigo & twigetti and re-workings of material from Leah's debut 'Feather Hammer'.
"Leah Kardos isn’t scared to experiment and doesn’t fail to surprise" - Echoes And Dust
"Leah Kardos is an amazing composer, able to create beauty in a way that is both hers alone and that resonates so strongly with listeners" - I Care If You Listen
Since the release of her debut album in her native Germany, the singer/songwriter/producer has busied herself with gigs in London and New York, as well as composing soundtracks for several high-profile German films. She has recently finished the production of her second album in London’s Premises Studios, which demonstrates a diverse set of influences, from European classical to experimental electronics.
The single Song No. 1 / Memphis and its 7” limited edition vinyl release marked Alev’s first UK single release on 18th March 2013 and featured acclaimed Finnish drummer Samuli Kosminen (Múm, Hauschka, Kronos Quartet, Jónsi).
