Huxley has released for Hypercolour, Quintessentials, Tsuba and many other quality labels. Occasiuonally working with Ethyl or Johnny Cade or Sam Russo when producing, his releases, either collaboratively or as solo artists, have delivered some genuine highlights in deep house and garage inflected grooves in the the past few years, winning support from Patrice Scott, Jus Ed, Steffi, Christopher Rau and countless other doyens of deep.
Born in Sweden but growing up in Germany, Christian Smith has combined the two countries’ revered techno blueprints into his own unique sonic palette for decades. Now Brazil based, Smith’s sound has grown from stripped back and heads down in the early days to being more melodically experimental and… darn right funky on later productions like his most recent full length, Director’s Cut. Since first emerging, the respected likes of Drumcode, Bedrock, and Renaissance are the ones to have come calling for this mans sounds, time and time again. Of course, since 1994, Smith has also steered his Tronic label through myriad big releases of his own, but also those from talents like Umek, Marc Romboy and Edu Imbernon.
Laurence Ritchie and Andy Riley aka Inland Knights began their auspicious careers as promoters of some of UK’s most memorable early 90’s free parties. Since then they have gone on to produce well received underground house and tech records for 2020 vision, NRK Music, Drop and Om amongst other labels. They have played at such diverse events as Dance Valley in Holland and clubs such as London’s Fabric as well as in Australia, New Zealand and even South Africa, whilst their most recent album ran a gamut of quirky styles and has defined their DJ sets since.
You will probably have first have heard of Casino Times when their infectious future classic ‘That’s The Truth’. The track was supported and played by many highly regarded tastemakers including Jamie XX, Wolf & Lamb, Bicep and Solomun (who included it in his ‘Watergate Mix’ CD).The versatility of this track set the bench mark for Joseph Spencer and Nick Church to constantly push their own personnel boundaries when making music and since then it has come on labels like Wolf Music and Phonica’s own white label series.
Marino Cnaal and others complete this line-up for what is sure to be the perfect palce to carry on after We Are FSTVL.
