Danny Williamson seemed to appear out of nowhere at the beginning of 2013 with a barrage of tracks that seemed to resemble the Hard Dance we fell in love with, but with up to date production skills and fresh new elements we had never heard before. Danny’s style and technical ability continued to shock and surprise as his productions on labels such as Kiddfectious, Gearbox Digital, Traffic Records, Tech Fu and Absolution Digital dominated the charts with several reaching the top 10 and even number 1. Recent achievements include his collaboration with Splinta from Australia, “Break Down Low”, released on Kiddfectious and maintained top spot in the Trackitdown charts for some time. His collaboration with the Ukrainian rising star Diablik, “Audio Porn”, released on Rave Me shows Danny’s ability to push boundaries and think outside the typical “Hard Dance Box”. Also His refreshing and undeniably mind blowing remix of “Alex Kidd vs Kidd Kaos – Toms Diner” released on Kiddfectious and hit top spot in the Trackitdown charts, received only positive feedback to date, a complimenting version to the already hugely popular remix’s and a testament to Danny’s attention to detail and respect for the original. More recently Danny’s remix of Ash Preston’s Extrema on Tech Fu also hit No.1 in the Trackitdown charts, a gritty and driving track that certainly adds a fresh edge to the already popular Tech Fu brand.
Danny’s hard work and progression throughout 2013 resulted in not one, not two, but three of his tracks being featured in the infamous Goodgreef Xtra Hard album. The Past, Present & Future Anthems album released in December 2013 and mixed by five of the some of the most influential artists in the Hard Dance industry, shows further evidence of Danny’s growth and potential coming into the new year http://goo.gl/sPjm2J (Album Link)
His Hard Edged sound is like no other and for that very reason has gained worldwide support from the likes of Alex Kidd, Anne Savage ,YOJI, Kutski, Fausto, Proteus, Scot Project, A.S.Y.S, Amber D, Argy, Thilo & Evanti, Klonez, Diablik, Luca Antolini and Splinta to name just a few. With Alex describing Danny as New Kidd On The Block and worth keeping both eyes on, it was no surprise that they would eventually join forces to collaborate on new sounds. A real milestone and pleasure for Danny working with and taking pointers from one of his biggest idols.
Danny has taken it upon himself to delve into the world of Subground. A tall order for British artists no matter what their ability or following, a scene dominated by the pioneering Dutch and only broken into by the most innovative of non-natives such as Alex Kidd, Diablik and the Welsh Wizard that is Argy. Danny’s latest Subground tracks have gained him new and well deserved attention. Creating Subground that is Clean and Heavy whilst remaining Original is a hurdle most will stumble and fall. Absorbing himself in such a task has paid off though and has resulted in Danny’s ground breaking tracks being released on Analogue Is Dead and this year’s hottest property, The Subground label… In December Danny delivered a blistering guestmix on Yoji’s Airport Session Radio show on Afterhours with Yoji stating that “A set from Danny Williamson, who is my favourite producer at the moment”
Danny’s technical wizardry not only exists in the studio, but seems to spill out on to dance floors across the country. With bookings so far for the likes of Goodgreef, Kiddfectious, Absolution, I Love Hard Dance, Gearbox, Reversion and continued interest from promoters across the UK and overseas into 2014, there is no stopping this “New Kidd On The Block!” Danny ended 2013 on a high playing main room for the legendary brand Goodgreef. A golden opportunity to road test his latest weapons to a packed dance floor of highly appreciative clubbers – footage from GOODGREEF Leeds 27/12/13 http://goo.gl/uO2GhM
Check out Danny Williamsons latest Producer Showcase that was aired on the popular Gearbox Radio show…. Don't expect your usual "Hard Dance" set though (Rapid and Ruthless), expect a mixture of gritty Tech, booming Subground and Danny's thumping pumping concoctions 135 - 145BPM. Collaborations with the likes of Alex Kidd, Diablik and Splinta, new originals and remixes for talent such as Ash Preston and Phil Mackintosh.
