"This project, beside showing some of the most fascinating places that I have seen both in my Italian native region, Marche, and in the region where I study, Toscana, is thought to reflect on the concept of Space in its relationship with humans. According to current scientific researches, it seems that humans are the only living beings that can survive and evolve in really tiny and narrow spaces. This research, together with the recent campaign against the animal deportation in cages, has been of great inspiration for my project. My project has been the result of a larger process: I chose a human being, a girl in this specific case, I deprived her of everything, I put her in a little cage and I left her for few hours in the middle of those amazing places. What I wanted to show is that humans, as well as animals, cannot live a normal, respectable life within an extremely narrow space."
