From 31 May to 2 June, and again June 7 and 8, in Zibello is the famous festival dedicated to the salted pork!
Zibello, coastal village in the province of Parma, once again celebrates its extraordinary local product, "Her Majesty" Culatello, with five days of the festival. From 31 May to 2 June, and then again on June 7 and 8, in the center of the country, it must be "staged" the Feast of Culatello, which cuts the finish line of this year's 29th edition.
It starts Saturday, May 31, from 20, with the opening of the food stands at 21 to continue with the show orchestra Giacomo Maini.
Sunday, June 1st, the food stands will be in operation from 11:30 am to 14 and from 19 onwards. On the same day, from 15.30 to 18.30, there will be a caricaturist on shirts and the show will be held in the school of Trecasali Country Road. At 18, in the theater Pallavicini, theatrical performance of "Ulysses" and, at 21, an evening of music and dance with the orchetsra Daniele Cordani.
Monday, June 2, food stalls open from 11.30 am to 14 and from 19 onwards; from 15.30 to 18.30, face painting, music and cabaret with Simon & Milena and, at 21, show Macho orchestra and the band.
Whether that Sunday 1st Monday, June 2, from 9 am onwards, the festival will be enriched by the market "November Porc," with specialties and niche that will be coming from all over Italy to form a valuable "crown" around "your majesty" the salted pork.
After a break of a few days, the festivities will resume on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th June. Saturday 7, opening of the food stands from 20 and, at 21, the feast of beer with Stupid Hotels (tribute to Vasco Rossi). Sunday, June 8th, then, for the fifth and final day of the festival, the food stands will be open from 11.30 am to 14 and from 19 onwards. From 15.30 to 18.30 and will be on stage The Wizard "Puppet Theatre" Loredana and Jennifer Sanchez Y Banda Latina. In the evening, finally, concert accordion.
Below the large marquee for Garibaldi square (thus ensure the smooth running of the event in case of bad weather), you can taste the salted pork, Red Label, the Ancients Producers Culatello and Spalla Cruda of Palasone (participating in the Consortium the Culatello) and many other specialties that enrich the menu.
The celebrations will then outline the typical town festivals, musical evenings, markets, exhibitions and shows. For the duration of the festival, in the cloister of the former Dominican convent there will also be an exhibition of vintage and modern agricultural tools and you can visit the museum of civilization and war relics dedicated to the memory of Dr. Giuseppe Riccardi.
The Feast of Culatello is organized by a committee of organizations coordinated by the Pro Loco, with the support of the City of Zibello, Province of Parma and Old Manufacturers of Culatello and Spalla Cruda of Palasone.
