FIRE 1 75- Hour Advanced Teacher Training Module!

YOGAMAYA New York 135 West 20th Street, 6th Floor b/w 6th & 7th Ave, New York, NY, USA

For 2014 we are transitioning the format of our 300 Hour Advanced Teacher Training to 4 75-Hour Modules (as opposed to 3 100-Hour Modules). There will be 2 modules offered in 2014 (FIRE 1 & 2) and the remaining 2 modules will be offered in 2015 for those teachers interested in obtaining a full 300 Hour Advanced Certification. Moving forward we will continue to offer either 2 modules per year or possibly all 4 in one calendar year if there is demand.
FIRE 1 & 2 (FIRE 2 will be offered October 18-25, 2014) are advanced teaching/sequencing/asana modules. Over the years we have seen that there is a very strong need and desire for teachers to refine and deepen their teaching skills, and to connect with other teachers in a safe, lively, and participatory learning environment. In FIRE 1 & 2 teachers will learn the signature Yogamaya method of DISSECTING THE POSE, how to teach ALIGNMENT for specific poses, how to choose TALKING POINTS/FOCUSES for classes, high-level SEQUENCING for more advanced asanas and getting beginners into basic shapes, using PROPS for advanced teaching, effective HANDS-ON ASSISTING, having a working knowledge of how to help students with INJURIES/ISSUES, and more. Built in to the time is energetic discussion about the role of the teacher, relationships, how to handle individual issues, the passion of teaching and how to share the philosophy and practice of Yoga in a way that is authentic to you and tailored to specific classroom environments.

Our modules in 2015 will include our STUDY Module of Restorative & Pranayama, self-care and complementary therapies and DEVOTION which will include philosophical study and practical application of Bhakti Yoga, in-depth study of the Bhagavad Gita, Harmonium lessons, and chanting.

Each module can stand alone as 75-Hours of Continuing Education or 4 different modules taken over whatever period of time works for the individual can be accrued to obtain a 300 Hour Certification from Yogamaya. Modules are made up of 60 in class hours and 15 hours of additional assigned work depending on the module. This may be in the form of assisting, case-studies, written assignments and meeting with mentors.
In order to participate in any module, individuals must be certified at the 200-Hour Level or have special permission to attend. In order to receive a diploma of completion of the full 300-Hour Advanced Training, attendees must be present for every date listed and fulfill all of the requirements of the 4 modules.

Tuition for each individual module is $1000 for the first 3 and $500 for the 4th.
To register for FIRE 1 a $500 deposit is required with an application. We require a credit card to be kept on file and the remaining $500 will be charged on June 6th, 2014 (or you can pay the full tuition at any time). A completed application will include a signed payment agreement and all applicants will be asked to sign Yogamaya’s Student Agreement.
~In order to receive any documentation of completion for any single or all modules, you must attend every date and time listed.
~Yogamaya has a strict lateness policy for all Teacher Training classes. In order to preserve the integrity of the atmosphere we will not be able to permit any late entry.
~ For FIRE modules each participant will be required to assist 4 full length classes at Yogamaya (post module) to be completed by August 31st, 2014 for FIRE 1. We will schedule each person individually at times that work for their schedule for classes taught by Stacey, Bryn or Deb.
We request that any teacher interested in attending any of our training modules take class with Stacey and/or Bryn before applying.
If you have any questions please contact Stacey@yogamayanewyork.com. If you are ready to apply, you can email a completed application accompanied by a scanned and signed payment agreement and student agreement and call the studio or come by to make your payment.
