The Shady Horns ft. Ryan Zoidis and Eric Bloom of @lettucefunk

NOLAFUNK & CEG Presents...

Kung Fu w/ special guests The Shady Horns
Ryan Zoidis & Eric Bloom of Lettuce + Pretty Lights
Through discipline, practice & study KUNG FU has sought excellence in the art of improvised dance music. Schooled by the masters, The Headhunters, Weather Report, Mahavishnu Orchestra and Frank Zappa, the quintet of masterfully seasoned musicians blends electro-jazz-funk with an EDM informed danceability at the highest level of skill & inspiration nightly. The resulting “NU-SION” is “captivating”, “explosive”, “jaw-dropping” and “musically mesmerizing. Prepare yourselves for a devastating, LETHAL FUNK to be rained down on you by a BAD-ASS BLACK-BELT BACKBEAT. For the uninitiated, the experience is typically shocking yet the focus is simple: ENTER THE DRAGON!

The Nth Power
Few artists pack as much punch in a five-piece, all-analog ensemble as The Nth Power. The formula starts with drummer Nikki Glaspie(Dumpstaphunk, Beyoncé)'s deep pocket, explosive energy and silky vocals, compounded by bassist Nate Edgar (John Brown's Body), whose quiet confidence lies in perfect contrast to the emphatic, funky low-end he creates. Next, the unmistakable vocals of Nigel Hall (Lettuce, Warren Haynes Band) and his innate ability to preach with a keyboard hit the groove in full force. Over the top comes Nick Cassarino (Jennifer Hartswick Band, Big Daddy Kane), oozing more soul in one finger than most guitarists could create in a lifetime, and with a voice that immediately wraps the room in sex appeal. West African djembe master Weedie Braimah (Toubab Krewe, Kreative Pandemonium) is the final X-factor, creating a rhythmic symphony that completes the equation with resounding finesse.

Jennifer Hartswick Band
Jennifer Hartswick is one of the most refreshing new voices of the twenty first century. A consummate performer, she thrills audiences as a vocalist, trumpeter, composer, lyricist and educator. She is equally at home singing soul, funk, pop and R&B, but her passion without question is jazz.
