You are all in for a treat come Tuesday 27th May. Spoiled rottin I tell thee!! Guitar and vocal virtuoso Peter Price, who is venturing all the way from England, will grace us with his presence and genius upstairs, The Grand Central Bar, Derry, doors open 9pm. This will be a 2-hour awe-inspiring concert and its TOTALLY FREE so lets give Peter a huge warm welcome. That’s not all. Following Peter will be a funky jive disco with none other than The Lizard Lounge Sound System so all we need now is for the sun to have his hat on but either way this is definitely a concert not to be missed. It is just luck that he is playing Derry as you will be catching Peter before he travels onto The Rory Gallagher festival where he is a very strong feature of the Rory weekend. He brings to the stage that old blues acoustic style that you don’t hear much unless you stick a 1930’s recording of Robert Johnson or the likes on.
Peter Price has a brilliant international reputation following a musical career that has so far taken him to festivals and concert venues throughout the UK, Europe and North America leaving people with an impression that they will never forget. A gifted performer, his concerts and performances take the listener on strange and exotic journeys from the country blues style of Robert Johnson, Blind Willie McTell, and Leadbelly; to Latin American dances, Celtic Pipe and Harp tunes, Hymns and Indian Ragas.
His performances demonstrate a mind- boggling mastery of the acoustic guitar, a rich singing voice, and a relaxed yet compelling stage presence. Peter’s performances have delighted audiences worldwide and guarantee an evening not to be missed. The Grand Central Bar Derry, Tuesday 27th May followed by The Lizard Lounge Sound System and TOTALLY FREE. Doors open 9pm.
