The Enniscrone Black Pig Festival takes place in Enniscrone, one of Sligo's most popular and scenic towns, with a wide variety of activities for all ages. The festival will commence with a momentous parade through the town, followed by the black pig warriors, the evening will include street entertainment.
Fun Fair will be on every night, Live Music in Pubs and Hotels every night, Function Night Club also open every night & a disco bar every night in Mary Ann’s.
Due to the Sligo Fleadh Cheoil timing their music from August 10th-17th and a desire to flee the already crowded August Bank Holiday weekend, the Black Pig will dance a new jig in Enniscrone in July this year.
The Events Committee have chosen the weekend of July 25th-28th for their annual celebration of Enniscrone's Black Pig and its unique heritage.
Along with the date change comes a makeover of the festival calendar which promises to include a greater emphasis on the iconic Black Pig and possible new highlights of the things of the sea. All will be revealed as these finer touches are finalized but the central theme of celebration of all things Enniscrone family life will be honoured in play, sport, music, dance and the craic. Mark your calendar and watch this space for future updates.
