We are delighted to announce a very special performance by indie rock & reggae legend Finley Quaye here at the Button Factory on Thursday June 5th.
Brit award winner for Best Male Finley has released a total of 10 critically acclaimed albums since 1997's multi-platinum 'Maverick A Strike' established him as one of the most innovative artists of his generation. Finley has long been an internationally acclaimed talent. The music he makes touches on reggae, alt rock, jazz, trip hop and many different fusion styles and has won him a MOBO for best reggae act. Most famous for his 1997 hit ‘Even After All’, Finley has also provided vocals for artists like A Guy Called Gerald, Iggy Pop, Tricky and Timo Maas. Before all this, though, the man who has clocked up a number of Top 20 hits worked in various jobs in the industry, including working on stage during shows by the likes of Take That and Jean Michel Jarre.
Coming from a musical dynasty of sorts, Godfather to Tricky, Godson of Duke Ellington and also related by blood to Femi Kuti. Born March 25th 1974 in Edinburgh, Scotland, Finley grew up in London accompanying his mother to Ronnie Scott's Jazz club witnessing performances from Jazz superstars such as Buddy Rich and Pete King.
This will be Finley's first performance at the Button Factory where he will be playing material from his most recent studio album 'February Road' as well as hits from his remarkable back catalogue.
