We're gonna need a bigger boat ....
For Alfresco's 4th event we have talked A Certain Ratio into playing live, a very rare thing now. Factory Records legends and the perfect booking for us, punk funk in the sun. They will be ably assisted by former label mates, our very own Section 25 from Blackpool. We also have 2 Billion Beats performing live with a brand new line up, a full band basically. Cowbell Radio's Louise Spiteri is another new addition this year, a stunning RnB vocalist. Alfresco favourites Government will make up the live acts on the main stage with Martin Brew stringing it altogether until Mr Scruff and Kwasi take the stage from around 17:00. It's a real honour to have Mr Scruff back as the show he and Kwasi put on last year was nothing short of immense.
The marquee this year will feature many a great act. We are very proud to announce that Andrew Weatherall will be doing a special 'anything goes' hour long set. This is just an extra treat as the tickets to see ALFOS with Sean Johnston later are limited. Chris Duckenfield who was amazing last year at the after party will also be doing a daytime set with Luke Una now confirmed as well. If this was not enough we have Craig Bratley from Magic Feet Recordings playing too. The marquee will be an over 18s affair, parents can take children in but this will be the clubby side of Alfresco. There'll be early support from 7"of Bliss and No Specific Style also.
The 'Breakin Convention' hip hop stage will host a full on Speak To The Streets show with Ten Tonn and T-Breaks hosting battles and workshops along with special guest DJ Junk from Second To None.. Bboy Mouse and Breakin Glass members will be doing some great work throughout the day. There'll be cash battles for all ages with many great prizes up for grabs with the cream of the country's Bboys competing. We'll also have DJs from 'An Evening With Tha Gods' doing some great sets throughout the day. The Gods will have several of their residents in attendance as well as DJ Woody making a guest appearance for them.
Whats included for the kids in the day then ?
Right then, we have loads of arts and crafts classes from jewellery making, monster making to recycling art, they also get to keep everything they make. We also have loads of live art on the day with kids being encouraged to take part. There is children's theatre and games from the wonderful Kat's Whiskers too as loads of dance workshops with some world class tutors and dancers. We have fully qualified football coaches organising 5 a side tournaments as we as other sports and games. There are story telling tents, facepainting, balloon modelling, clowns as of course we have a huge straw village for the children to play in. The straw fights last year were incredible, it wasn't planned but ended up being much much fun. We also have fun with food with kids getting to decorate their own cakes etc. Much more will be added nearer the time, this is just a taste.
All this is completely included in their ticket price. All children are encouraged to get involved in anything they want whenever they want. You as the parent shouldn't feel held to ransom just because your children want to take part. No child should have to watch others have fun just because their parents may not be able to afford as much as others. This will never change folks, and you the parents are entertained with great music instead of being stressed out. Everything is fully supervised and the grounds enclosed, go on, let them explore x

We are hoping to attract 4000 people inc children and that will be a cut off for this event. We really want this to be the main event on the Fylde summer calendar showcasing music and art
