This year’s walk will begin at the Viaduct at 10am. Buses sponsored by McCarthy Coaches will leave Kellehers in Bandon from 8.30 am, last bus @ 9.30am. The walk is 22km/14 miles from the Viaduct to the Town Hall in Bandon. There will also be start points at the Ballinhassig Roundabout and Innishannon. All our welcome to join this walk, you can even dress up if you like! It is a challenging walk but it is an opportunity to show support to those dealing with cancer.

Funds raised from Make Your Mark will support;
-Our Testicular Cancer Awareness programme in schools so more young men will have the knowledge and understanding to "self check", identify and act upon if confronted with this disease.
-The Mercy Cancer Support Centre, which will provide a quiet, safe place for patients to help them deal with their cancer journey through one-to-one support and counselling in a nonclinical and relaxed environment.
-A Rapid Access Clinic for patients with cancers of the Prostate, Kidney, Bladder, Testes and Penis.

The walk is run in memory of Mark Prendergast - "In June 2012, Mark Prendergast lost his battle with Testicular Cancer, we lost a father, a husband, a son, a brother and a friend. Father of three, Mark, was 34 when he died; he will be painfully missed by anyone who knew him but will forever be remembered for his cheeky, unique personality. We were thrilled with the success of the 2013 Make Your Mark walk which raised €49,806.76. Our aim as a group was to Make a Mark on Cancer and Cancer Care in Cork and we feel that every individual who walked, sponsored a walker, made a donation towards the running of the event or helped as a marshal, steward or volunteer have a lot to be proud of. We made a Mark.....We made a Difference." - Fiona Prendergast.
A big thank you to the Prendergast and Curran Families who organise the walk!
Our sincere thanks goes to AceSigns, McCarthy Coaches, PetroSystems and The Viaduct. Please visit www.makeyourmark.ie for the full list of sponsors.
