Drypoint is a printmaking technique of the intaglio family, in which an image is incised into a plate (or "matrix") with a hard-pointed "needle" of sharp metal or diamond point. Traditionally the plate was copper, but now acetate, zinc, or plexiglas are also commonly used.
There will be imagery ideas available or
if you would like, bring printouts from photographs or drawings (image A4 and/or A5.) to work from. We will be working at approx. A5 size.
Be prepared for a day of creativity and experimentation, printing on a variety of papers and other materials. Please wear old clothes and bring a packed lunch if you wish. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits will be available.
