The first international Conference Taste the Mediterranean will be held in the old city of Šibenik, in Croatia, on 29 May - 1 June 2014. The Conference aims to promote the Mediterranean Diet, with an emphasis on its scientific, cultural and social values.
Croatia has recently been included on UNESCO's representative list of countries that protect the Mediterranean Diet as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The Conference Taste the Mediterranean will consist of:
scientific lectures by international and Croatian experts
a Mediterranean market with the typical products on sale
cooking shows by great Mediterranean chefs
excursions on the field
Target groups of the Conference Taste the Mediterranean are:

small producers, family farms (producers of vegetables, fruit, olive oil, wine, cheese makers, honey makers, fishermen, producers of Mediterranean spices)
