★ Ida Engberg - full biography

Having picked up the DJing bug at the age of 14, Ida progressed from playing records in her local youth center to her first gig in a small bar in Stockholm by 18. The bar gigs led to club gigs and warm-up spots for international talent that passed through Stockholm’s infamous Cocktail Club, where Ida became a resident. Through contacts and events, Ida began to secure bookings outside of Sweden. “My tactic was to say yes to every opportunity I got to play somewhere, I basically just followed my heart and inner path”, remembers Ida. While in Marbella, Ida was offered the chance to work as a resident DJ over the summer. This experience gave her the confidence to push things forward by relocating to the Mecca of parties and craziness, Ibiza, for a full season in 2005. “Being there was so inspiring, I think taking that journey has definitely led me to where I am today.”

When Ida arrived back in Sweden, she put that inspiration to work producing her own music. Her first releases on Pickadoll and Get Physical in 2007 paved the way for her signing with the international agency Plantage13, and for the next couple years she focused her touring in mostly Germany, Belgium, and Holland, including her first Drumcode gig in 2008. She soon made her impactful debut in the US, at Sunday School for Degenerates WMC in 2009, leading to being signed by the US agency AM Only. Her later productions, including 'Owl’s Nest’/'Little Shadow' (Truesoul, 2010) and her remix of Depeche Mode's Sister of Night in 2011, both gained massive support and topped sales charts worldwide. In 2011, Ida joined the ranks of Adam Beyer’s techno juggernaut Drumcode, making her mark with acclaimed releases like ‘Blue Yonder’ and ‘Junoverse' in 2011, as well as the Adam Beyer collaboration ‘Unanswered Question’ in 2013.

Ida’s versatility is infectious, whether playing big room techno at Drumcode nights & festivals like Awakenings, or deep house at clubs and after hours all around the world. 2013 saw Ida continue her dance floor domination at the world’s most respected clubs like Paradiso in Amsterdam, Berlin’s Panorama Bar, Ushuaia in Ibiza, Cavo Paradiso in Greece, Pacha Ibiza, Gipsy in Moscow, and festivals like Wavefront Festival in Chicago, Ultra Miami & Buenos Aires, Amsterdam Dance Event, and BPM Festival in Mexico, amongst others. This past year, she has guest starred on residencies like Guy Gerber’s Wisdom of the Glove at Pacha Ibiza, Luciano’s Vagabundos at Ushuaia, Row 14 Barcelona’s “El Row on the Road”, and Richie Hawtin’s ENTER. at BPM.

2014 will see a flurry of US dates during her extended stay, including Igloofest Montreal, Story Miami, Spybar Chicago, RebelRave (and a kickoff to her Verboten residency) in Brooklyn, NY. She has a jam packed Miami Music Week this year, including Damian Lazarus’s 8th annual Get Lost celebration, Drumcode, and an exclusive b2b set with Adam Beyer for ENTER. March will see Ida’s Crosstown Rebels debut release before she heads back into the studio. Come summer, catch her in Ibiza & beyond with some exciting new collaborations and guest appearances.

★ Inxec (Crosstown Rebels / Get Physical)

Cutting a two metre shadow, with blue eyes and red hair - its not hard to miss the sky scraping figure of Inxec. As an ever rising talent with an ability not yet fully blossomed, Inxec produces music from his beloved house right through to heart breaking, thought inspiring mood sections for national radio plays here in Germany. There is no stop button in sight.

★ Scott Kemp (Mobilee / NoVus)

Having enjoyed his most successful year to date in 2013, since the turn of the year, NoVus label co-founder Scott Kemp has continued his ascent to the forefront of a new generation of underground music pioneers. Having achieved stand-out digital and vinyl releases on some of the hottest labels of the moment, including mobilee, Hypertone and Lowroom Recordings, whilst also gracing some of Europe’s most revered party destinations, including London, Ibiza, Milan, Valencia, Paris, Turin and Cologne, Scott Kemp has most definitely established himself as accomplished a producer as he is DJ.
2014 has started equally as strong for the NoVus brainchild, with a 4 track LP released back in February on the highly-regarded ‘Turquoise Blue Recordings’. Accompanied by a fine array of remixes from DJ W!ld, Hector and Seph, the release enjoyed a welcomed 8/10 review from Mixmag, and set the tone for the year ahead. Scott's productions have continued to go from strength to strength, with his most recent release on Vast London, a remix of the excellent Egal 3, also earning him rave reviews. And, with upcoming appearances at some of Europe’s most respected club mainstays including OFF Sonar, Chalet Berlin, ADE Festival, Prime Time in Malta, Naturklang in Zurich, to name but a few, it’s safe to say that 2014 will be an even more colossal year for this likely London lad.

★ Aidan Doherty (Warm Up London)
