Casimir Liberski Piano Solo

Pianist and composer born in Brussels in 1988.
Casimir started playing music as a self-taught blues piano player. He quickly moved on to Jazz became very active on the Belgian jazz scene since the age of 13.

Awarded and noticed for his talent at a very young age, the press called him “a prodigy” in Belgium.
At 18 , He went to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music granted with a “Presidential Scholarship ". After graduating, he moved to New York City in 2010.

That’s where he met and studied with some of the Jazz greats, such as Ornette Coleman, Brad Mehldau , Steve Hunt, Ray Santisi, Masabumi Kikuchi, Danilo Perez, R. Prasanna, Craig Taborn , Vijay Iyer, Jason Moran, Greg Osby, Sal Mosca, Jeff Ballard, Connie Crothers, and more with whom he deepened his piano playing and understanding of music. He also collaborated on Charnett Moffett’s album called " Treaures " recording alongside Stanley Jordan, Rodney Holmes, and Denardo Coleman. In 2008 Casimir released his first album in the US under his own label “Dalang ! Records”, " Evanescence " along with his favorite New York musicians : Tyshawn Sorey on drums and Thomas Morgan on bass . Then in 2012 he Recorded two albums in two days with his prog-fusion trio featuring Louis de Mieulle on bass and Jeff Witherell on drums : "The Caveless Wolf " and "Atomic Rabbit". Louis de Mieulle also released two albums under his name on which Casimir appears as pianist and keyboardist.

Casimir Liberski also composed the soundtracks for several movies, including the feature film "Bunker Paradise" by his father Stefan Liberski and was nominated at the Ghent film Festival during the time of its release in 2005. Casimir also composed for a television release called “En chantier monsieur Tanner” and “Tokyo Fiancée” which is coming out in September 2014 and is based on the best seller novel by Belgian writer Amélie Nothomb.

Casimir has preformed in many festivals, clubs and concert halls around the east coast in America, France, Belgium and Japan and has played with some of the greatests such as: Charnett Moffet, Evan Marien, Dana Hawkins, Peter Evans, Roy Hargrove, Logan Richardson, Larry Grenadier, Jeff Ballard, Nasheet Waitts, John Hébert, Steve Coleman, Reggie Washington, Hadrien Féraud, Philip Catherine, Tysawn Sorey, Mark Shim, Stéphane Galland, Carles Benavent, Magic Malik, Petar Ralchev, Misirli Ahmet…
